While exploring Phnom Penh, I decided to visit Prey Fern Café for a simple coffee and some snacks. I wasn’t expecting anything too special—I just wanted to find a nice place to sit, relax, and enjoy something to eat.

But honestly, Prey Fern Café surprised me.

It was one of the most unique cafés I visited in Phnom Penh, and I think I can confidently call it the greenest café I’ve ever visited. 🌿

From the moment I arrived, I was surrounded by so much greenery that it almost felt like I had stepped away from the busy streets of Phnom Penh and into a little garden.

What surprised me even more was the food and drinks. I went there mainly for coffee and snacks, but I didn’t expect them to be as good as they were.

When I arrived at Prey Fern Café, I was quite surprised to find what felt like a little oasis right in the center of the city.

The café is very spacious and relaxing, with plenty of seating areas. So, if you’re worried about finding a seat, you probably don’t have to stress too much, especially if you visit during a quieter time.

But what makes Prey Fern Café even more unique is the greenery and the animals you can find around the café. 🐓🐇🦚

Yes, you read that right! You can actually see chickens, rabbits, and peacocks inside the café. I honestly wasn’t expecting that when I came for a simple coffee and some snacks.

If you’re someone who loves taking pictures, just like me, you’ll probably have a lot of fun here. There are plenty of little corners and beautiful spots where you can take photos, so I found myself looking around almost as much as I was enjoying my coffee. 😂📸

I visited around 5 PM on a weekday, and the café wasn’t too busy when I arrived. This made the experience even more relaxing because I could take my time, walk around, take pictures, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere without feeling rushed.

For me, that was one of the things I enjoyed most about Prey Fern Café. Despite being in Phnom Penh, it didn’t really feel like I was in the middle of a busy city.

Coffee, Snacks & a Relaxing Afternoon ☕🌿

Since I came to Prey Fern Café mainly to relax and have something to drink, I ordered a matcha latte.

The matcha was okay—not necessarily the best matcha I’ve ever had, but it was nice enough to enjoy while sitting and taking in the surroundings. The café also has a variety of other drinks, including tea, so there are options if you don’t drink coffee.

For food, they offer both light snacks and proper main courses. I didn’t come here specifically for a big meal, so having the option to order something light was perfect for me. I also found the prices to be quite reasonable and similar to what you would expect at an ordinary café in Phnom Penh.

One thing I found quite interesting was the seating. If you prefer a more relaxed style of sitting, they also have areas where you can sit or lounge closer to the ground. It definitely adds to the laid-back atmosphere of the café.

A Good Place to Get Some Work Done 💻

Another thing I appreciated was that Prey Fern Café has Wi-Fi and charging ports, which made it quite convenient for me to do some work.

I ended up staying for around two hours. The service was a little slow, but honestly, I didn’t mind too much. I wasn’t in a hurry, and I came there to relax anyway.

While waiting for my drink and food, I used the time to walk around and take a lot of pictures. 😂📸

With all the greenery, animals, and little corners around the café, I definitely didn’t run out of things to photograph.

So, even though the service wasn’t the fastest, the relaxed atmosphere made it easy for me to just slow down and enjoy my afternoon.

Phnom Penh can feel quite busy and overwhelming after spending hours walking around the city. That’s why I really appreciated having a café like Prey Fern, where you can take a break, clear your mind, and enjoy some fresh air.

For me, it didn’t feel like I was simply sitting in a café. With all the trees, plants, and animals around, it felt more like spending time in a little garden oasis in the middle of the city.

Sometimes, you don’t need to do anything special. Just sit down, have a drink, take some pictures, get some fresh air, and give yourself a little time to slow down.

And I think that’s what I enjoyed most about Prey Fern Café. 💚

Whenever I want to escape the busy streets of Phnom Penh and spend some time in a peaceful environment, Prey Fern Café would definitely be one of the places I would consider visiting again.
